What is "IMEI" Number on Mobile phone and why it is so important?

"IMEI" number stands for The International Mobile Equipment Identity. It is a number unique to every GSM and UMTS mobile phone. It is usually found printed on the phone underneath the battery and can also be found by dialing the sequence *#06# into the phone.
The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to verify valid devices and therefore can be used to stop a stolen phone from accessing the network. For example, if a mobile phone is stolen, the owner can call his or her network provider and instruct them to "ban" the phone using its IMEI number. This renders the phone useless, regardless of whether the phone's SIM is changed. Many chinese phone does not contains the IMEI number and it is avaiable in grey market. But beware to buy these phones because these are not genuine phone.
The IMEI number is an electronic fingerprint transmitted every time a phone is used, which reveals the identity of the mobile handset.
So Whenever you buy a phone, note down the IMEI number in your diary . It will help you a lot whenever your mobile phone stolen.

SO, I feel I have to also tell to my readers some basic of SAP.
SAP is actually stands for " Systems, Application and Products" in data processing within an organisation. This is actually used to automize all the processess and system with in a company.
This is an ERP ( Enterprise Resource Planning) which has some advance features. SAP, started in 1972 by five former IBM employees in Mannheim, Germany.
The original name for SAP was German: Systeme, Anwendungen, Produkte, German for "Systems Applications and Products." The original SAP idea was to provide customers with the ability to interact with a common corporate database for a comprehensive range of applications. Gradually, the applications have been assembled and today many corporations, including IBM and Microsoft, are using SAP products to run their own businesses.
SAP applications, built around their latest R/3 system, provide the capability to manage financial, asset, and cost accounting, production operations and materials, personnel, plants, and archived documents. The R/3 system runs on a number of platforms including Win2000 and uses the Client/Server model. The latest version of R/3 includes a comprehensive Internet-enabled package.

I have done my MBA in Systems and I have a good career too. But I have joined an Institute to teach the MBA students - Quantitative techniques and Production Management. My intention to teach these students is not the monetary benefit Which I am getting. But it gives a lot of exposure and interaction with the new management aspriants and their expertise and questions really help me to expand my canvass and getting my knowledge more wider. I am teaching them but they are giving me the return in the form of their experience in life.

I used to teach them on Sunday and this is really a very good experience for me. These three hours gives me satisfaction that whatever I have learnt during my six years experience in various companies , I am sharing with them.

What this IPL( Indian Premier League) gave the lesson to Corporates?

Rajsthan Royal led by Veteran leggy Shane Warne bagged the first IPL trophy and accounted 4.8 Crore rupees. This win of Rajsthan Royals gaves so many answers to corporates house that nobody is under dog. The collective effort, passion to prove the worth can make a huge difference to get the success. In the starting of the league, Rajsthan Royals were nowhere and nobody was expecting that this low profile team will win the tournament. But Shane Warne proved that if a leader has the clear intention and have faith in him and keep focussing the target and united the team in one, anything can possible.
To summarise this IPL, As a management professional followings things are emerges as learning
- India has a huge potential market for anything specially cricket.
- If you have a plan and dare to execute , success will comes to you. Congrats Lalit Modi.
- It is not always that top guns will perform better than the underdogs. Deccan Charger and Rajsthan royals are the example.
- A good commander who turns as a motivator can have a great impact to their team.
- If you rely on your team and defined the job for them, then everything will be gone smooth.
